NDDA partners undertaking
Substantial components of the agreement of co-operation:
Data provider undertakes:
- providing meta-data about his archive in compliance with the OAI-PMH protocol;
• that his OAI server would disclose information in a format validated to the qualified Dublin Core (qDC) XML schemes developed by NDDA;
• providing basic DC compliant data if there is no applicable or expected specific standard for his area;
• making the harvestable meta-data on his OAI server universally accessible;
• maintaining the data available on his OAI server, i.e. providing meta-data consistent with his internal data.
• ensuring reliable on-line operation of the server, in order to secure smooth harvesting of meta-data for the periodic data updates of service providers
NDDA (as service and protocol provider) undertakes:
- giving support in working out the technical background of joining;
• enabling data providers to participate in developing standards specific to their area, insofar as they have not been developed yet;
• giving assistance to choosing the appropriate OAI system if required, giving expert assistance to choosing the appropriate operation mode (static or dynamic);
• the chosen OAI server and assisting with setup as well as with joining to the internal database;
• ensuring that meta-data become searchable in the NDDA search system;
• giving information about current events and conferences, as well as providing forums, new standards and namespaces through the NDDA portal.
