NDDA has developed diverse tools for making, organizing, storing and publishing meta-data.
metamanager
The metamanager is a browser-based utility which provides a simple solution to adding meta-data to on-line documents (image, audio material, text, motion picture) and storing and maintaining meta-data in a single location.
Metamanager renders meta-data harvesting possible, thus making them searchable by the NDDA search engine. The tool also permits co-operation among similar digital collections, the use of common meta-data-schemes.
Metamanager was primarily made for owners of digital collections without their own server, or those owning a server but trying to avoid doing database or other operations which require specialized expertise.
OAI server
OAI server is a server side application for sharing meta-data. There are central versions running automatically from the on-line metamanager and versions for manual download and configuration.
MetaMan - Firefox Extension
MetaMan is a mini application integrating into Firefox. It provides an easy way for adding meta-data to on-line content.
Portlet
The portlet is a simple, customizable server side application (Java script) for integration into websites furnished with meta-data. It displays the site’s relevant information to the users.
