Meta-data are descriptive data of digitally available documents (image, audio material, text, motion picture). Such meta-data may be the author, title, date of creation, subject, keywords, etc. of a work.
I the case of library books, the book’s meta-data are collected on the catalogue card.
Similarly, catalogue cards of (primarily) digital content are collected, systematized and made accessible and searchable by NDDA.
